Headache may have its Root in Detoxing from Narcotics... Posted: 06-06-06 06:28am
please see my post: not sure if
headaches...but i will give what i can
here.
i used to suffer from headaches for 30
years, till the fixed a devated syptum and
it got rid of the headache for 3
years...Now suddenly after coming off
actiq 800mcg's 6 times a day, 10 days
after that is...I suddenly developed pain
in the back of my head, with being tired
after resting.
The pain when laying down stop!, but when
i sit up and stand up, the pain begins and
don't let it be raining outside or it
worse. I have had xrays, mri's, and cat
scans and except for a few mid to lower
bulging vertibre, there is nothing to show
what is causing this..at least that is
what they say.
My question is: have you heard of this
before, or know of others suffering from
undiagnosed head pain that can not seem to
be found my normal means?
oh, i have been to physical therapy,
ciropractors and others, nero, ortho, and
even a shrink and none can find
anything..
Help if you can...i am getting
desprate...all i do is lay around in bed
all the time and unless i take a large
dose of oxycontin i can not get up
sometimes.
Oh this pain started before takeing any
narcotice type meds.
It seems that the first headache you
experienced could have been caused by
chronic sinusitis: it vanished after
repairing the deviated nasal septum. Your
current symptoms might be caused by
"abstinence syndrome" from narcotics.
After so many years on narcotics (actiq,
oxicontin etc.), you could have developed
a dependence on them, thereby making life
difficult without them. You can talk to
your GP for advice regarding abstinence.
Detoxing from narcotics can be medically
supervised; you need not do it alone.
