Q: How to Detect Candida? is it related to Hypoglcemia?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on June 5th, 2006
I have struggled with the symptoms of Hypoglycemia for many years now, and after changing my diet I am doing great. When talking about my condition with a friend he suggested that I do a saliva test for Candida. (His wife has it.) I spit into a glass of water and fiber like strings appeared. My husband tried it and his saliva floated normally above the water. According to that test I have a problem with yeast, however after researching Candida I realized very few symptoms if any, match up. I'm fairly sure I don't have it, but I'm not sure what to think about the saliva test. Could it be related to Hypoglycemia?

Candida infection in the mouth can be detected visually (white coverings on the tongue) and confirmed microbiologically. Candida infection is not usually connected with hypoglycemic conditions but with prolonged usage of wide specter antibiotics and immune deficiency.
