Q: New to Iud

I just had an iud inserted last thursday, and although it was painful, happy that I went through with it. However, I am experiencing a little bleeding-not as much as a period, but just a little more than spotting. Is this common? Is there anyone who had this problem before. I don't have any children yet and don't know if this has anything to do with the bleeding.

It's perfectly normal to have some spotting when you've had an iud fitted. It has nothing to do with having had children or not. It should settle down after the first few months of having it in place.

Thanks soo much. It makes me more relaxed to hear that it's normal. :)
