Q: Smoking And High Blood Pressure

Will your blood pressure go down when you stop smoking. I have read mixed theorys. It seems logical that it would because smoking makes your blood thicker.

I quit and mine went down for about 2 days about a 20-30 point drop onthe top and 10 onthe bottom. It gradually started creeping back up and by the 5th day it was higher than it was when I was smoking. Any ideas on this.

Smoking and high blood pressure are both high risk factors for coronary artery disease, stroke, kidney failure. Yes, smoking has an effect on blood pressure. Quit your smoking does not mean that your blood pressure will drop the very next day. Keep checking your blood pressure, you will probably note a mark difference in your blood pressure within 2-3 months.

High blood pressure symptoms causes diet treatment.
