I am a 30 year old mother of 2. I never had problems with my periods unil after I had my kids. My periods are horrible. They are very irregular...Are very long, anywhere from 6-14 days. Cramps that are so bed that I haveto make a trip to the er to get some sort of relief for them. Due to my period, I miss 1-2 days of work a month due to the cramping that is so bad that I could just kill myself to put me out of my misery. I lay all balled up and cry and cry for hours because I am in so much pain. The bleeding is very heavy. I go though 2 bags of pads a month. There are always lots of clots....( I dont mean to gross anyone out.) I have tried birth control and all kinds of medicine to help and nothing does. When it is time for my period to be over, it stops for a day or so, then I have this spotting of clots for 2 or 3 days. Then once it is all over and done, I have a couple of days where I have this brown, mucusy discharge. Then I have been cramping pretty bad after sex. I am so tired all the time. I have no energy. All I want to do is sleep. I got fixed after my second child was born 7 years ago. I get paps like I should. But nothing ever shows. Could there be something we are all missing???? Any ideas from anyone??? I would really appreciate any insite on this. Thanks

Yeah, it could be numerous things. Endometriosis. Fibroids. Pcos. Adenomyosis. Etc.

Pap smears only test for cervical abnormalities that lead to cervical cancer. They do not test for any of the above. A lot of the conditions above are diagnosed through surgery.

I think you should go see a gynecologist and tell them what your symptoms are and how long they have been lasting. You say you've been to the .E.R for pain relief, do you follow up with your regular doctor?

Good luck.

I too was diagnosed in january with endometriosis your periods sound very similar to mine it took me months to find a doctor who'd send me to a gyno but once I saw him and explained everything I had my surgery booked and pain medication in the meantime, I really think you should see a gyno, take care and keep us informed.

Endo....surgery.... Still Bleeding??? Is Is Normal?? Help
Jesticle

hi, I also had the endo and also the fibroids. I had just had surgery, I guess they call it a d&c last tuesday and for two days after I bled a bit and I guess it should have stopped. But the third day it appears that I was having a regular period. Thinking that this will finish, nooooooo, the next day I get cramps and I feel like I am having another period. The doctor also prescribed me surgestone 25mg a day but it does not seem to be helping.

Has anyone out there experiencing the same ?? Need any input as possible.

Lindee :(

If you are done having kids you should have a hysterectomy. The symptoms you discribe are the symptoms many women have that undergo a hysterectomy.
