Boil? Cyst? Ingrown Hair? Help!

Alright I don't exactly have much medical background so I will try to explain this as best I can. Several days ago I noticed what resembled a pimple in my pelvic area, it had the same general appearance of a pimple and was slightly sore, the only difference is that the base seemed enlarged - maybe about the size of a pinky nail and it was slightly hard. I am used to ingrown hairs in this area, but I have not shaved the area in several weeks, and it doesn't really remind me of one. Well the next day when I woke the object had swollen, red exterrior filled with what i'm assuming is puss(it was white). Only it seemed to have a blackish looking sustance at the tip. Upon closer examinating I saw what I am asuming to be a pore in the skin or maybe a hair follicle around the center of the growth. Although I did not attempt to squeeze the interrior out of it, it did, seemingly readily, so I continued and pushed the remainder out. At this point it became rather painful and bled a small amount. I applied some local antistetic to dull the main and went about my day. Since then the object has all but disapeared. There is still a slightly hard, disk, if you will under the skin where it was located, and now a tiny scab, the size of a pinhead, where the hole was. There is no pain and the 'disk' is still mildy red as it continues to heal. Is this something I should see a doctor about, or is nothing more than a skin infection?
