In the end of january I came down with what I thought was an ordinary cold/viral type illness. Incidentally I was diagnosed with an ear infection and was put on antibiotics. A week later I was driving to work and began to feel really light headed like I was going to faint then experienced heart palpitations. I went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with mono and apparently an innocent heart murmur. The mono now tests negative yet I am no better. I have seen a cardiologist who had me wear a 24hrholter monitor that apparently picked up an arrhythmia- 160 for 35 secs( I felt nothing at the time). He sent me to an electrophysiologist who is having me wear an event monitor. My symptoms are headache all the time(especially in the back of my head), dizziness, shortness of breath(somedays real bad- others okay), difficulty swallowing. I have seen an ent and just began to see a neurologist- had a test for vestibular functioning that was apparently normal. Can mono bring on all of this? Initially I thought maybe, but 4 months later I am supposedly free of mono. Also I had an epstein barr titer that came back fine supposedly I never had mono. How can that be with a positive mono spot test?
Please help!
