Q: Oh Dear...

So me and my husband went on a holiday together without the kids... Yay! Everything was great we had a brilliant time... Until the condom split! Here we are in the middle of maderia where there is no morning after pill and I just came off the coil a few weeks ago!
We freaked out! My husband acting really 'mature' told me to jump up and down to try and get the 'stuff' out of me. I could of slapped him!
Now i'm so scared. we came back on monday and I don't know what the next step to take should be...
Please help!

Get a coil fitted - it can be fitted within 10 days of unprotected sex to prevent a pregnancy.

Can I ask why did you have your coil removed if you didn't want to get pregnant?

hi my coil is called an iud it goes inside the womb to stop pregnancy.

I had to have it taken out as I was having heavy clots throughout my cycle and lower back pain. We've been using condoms though its just unfortunate luck it happened while on holiday

10 days after ovulation (or 4 days before your period is due) is the earliest to test and you'll need someting that is sensitive enough for that such as first response.

Implantation occurs approx 10 days post ovulation.
You say you had your last period around he 10th may and the condom split on the 24th - that is exactly when you would be expected to ovulate in a normal cycle - right in the middle of your fertile window.

So yes, you are high risk of pregnancy. However, you still have time to get a coil fitted if you wish to prevent the pregnancy from implanting (it needs to be done within 10 days of unprotected sex).

Or if you want to keep any possibly pregnancy then sunday would be the earliest day to test - make sure you use the first urine of the morning so it is concentrated and the test has a greater chance of picking up on those hormones.
Otherwise, if you don't have such a sensitive test, then you need to wait until thursday really.

Im not trying to be nasty here but your other post said you got 2 kids already, so you should know when to do a pregnancy test by now.

i thought this too. But, you know, after it has been awhile, you kind of tend to forget what pregnancy/childbirth was like. I think that is nature's way of getting us to do it all over again. All we remember was the fun stuff about pregnancy and babies. ;) maybe she forgot?

It is called an .I.U.D and it is inserted, by a doctor, into your uterus. It prevents the lining of the uterus from grown and makes a hostile environment for sperm. That way it prevents pregnancy. There are two kinds, one with a small amount of hormones and one without. They are only advised for women who are in monogamous relationships who are looking for long term birth control.
