I was diagnosed with iga nephropathy 21 years ago and am now at end stage. My brother is donating a kidney and my transplant will take place next month. I guess i've been lucky since I have not yet had to go on dialysis, even though my kidney function is slightly less than 10%. Anyway, if any of you out there have had a transplant, can you please tell me a little about it? I don't know anyone that has ever had a kidney transplant and i'm starting to get a little freaked out now that it's coming up.
