Am I Worrying?
Posted: 05-30-06 21:45pm

The last time I got my period was april 6... And its now may 30.. So idk if its a sign of pregnancy? Usually im just a few days late ofr my period.. But never 4 weeks.. My ribs are killing me and my breasts are really sore to a light touch. I took a prego test just tonite but it came up negative.. Would it be best if I took it in the morning? Im not really sure.. I havent thrown up lately and I didnt get implantation bleeding.. And im not really sure wat the signs of pregnancy are for the first month.. So if someone could help me out here.. That would be great.. :?

How old are you? Have you recently lost a significant amount of weight? Changed your exercise routine? Stressed out? All of these are potential factors explaining why your period didn't come this month.

If you haven't been getting your period for that many years, your body could still be adjusting to the cycle it will acquire as an adult. If you took a pregnancy test 4 weeks after your missed period, you are almost certainly not pregnant, morning urine or not. The test would have picked it up by now.

Weight loss or new exercise regimens can also affect your menstrual cycle. Stress can wreak havoc, as well.

If you haven't already, tell your parent/guardian your concerns and try to see a doctor to find the cause of your missed period. Sometimes, especially when you're young, a period will simply not come some months. It's always best, though, to see your doctor to rule out other possible causes you missed your period this month, like ovarian cysts.

P.S. - just curious, but if you aren't pregnant, why is your nickname teenpreggers?

Im 15 years old. Ill be 16 in sept.. I havent changed my excerise routine and im kinda stressed but this stress always comes because im a regular teen. The very first time I got my period I was 13 years old.. I took a test last nite and now this mornin.. And still a negative result... So I cant think of any other explanation...

P.S. Im not really sure why my nickname is teen preggerss.. Lol good question.. It seemed rite at the time..

Go and have the blood test done....And if it is neg. Then take more precautions next time you have sex if your not trying to get preg. Good luck.

When I was your age my period would be perfectly on time for so many months and then sometimes it would be irregular. It takes your body awhile to get adjusted to af. How long is awhile??? No one really knows tha answe to that
.
I just know it took mine 6 years (im 22). And my sister is 32 and has the same problem. Still!!!!

But everyone is different so yours could be from something else. But hope it gets better.

The mere fact that your still a young teen doesn't surprise me that your irregular. Lots of teens start to have regular cycles later on in thier early 20's. I would def. Take precautions use condoms and bcp in the future. I would also recommend going to your Dr. And getting a blood test . Good luck

I don't think a blood test is necessary.

Since you've only had your period for 2 and a half years, your period not showing up this month is most likely normal. Still, talk to a parent and see what they think - then consult a doc if your period doesn't show up for another two months.

I recommended a blood test because there is still a posibility of pregnancy and you need to rule it out completely since hpt don't work for everyone. I say take all the neccessary steps and take care of your body and ensure that all is well. Going to your gyno is very important . Good luck
