You have to wait 6 months for what? You can be tested 13 weeks past your last unprotected sex to get a conclusive result.

The cdc says that three month testing is conclusive.

I'm sorry you need to disregard terry he doesn't know what he's talking about. He's just comes to troll the forum.

All anyone can tell you is that you do not have a zero chance of contracting hiv. With as many condom breakages as you are having you need to using plenty of water base lube. As for my sign on name. I've had hiv/aids for 21 years, the second half of my sign on name is my initials.

Three Months
Yes, to back up what hivrhh has said to you, a three month test is considered accurate - any test before this time is highly indicative but not definitive.
When someone becomes infected with hiv, they go through what is known as seroconversion, which means they go from negative to positive hiv status. This usually occurs within six weeks, but very rarely up to three months. After seroconversion, hiv antibodies, produced by the immune system, are detectable by a standard elisa antibody test. This means that for most people, a six week test does indeed give an accurate result, but to be safe, the 13 week test is wise, just to be sure.

And it's true, terry really does not know what he is talking about.

Testing Time
For your information,

the test needs to be done for a conclusive resuslt atleast 3 months since your last exposure. But however, if you have been indulging in sexual activities with multiple partners for a much longer duration (like say 1-2 years), then, you could go and tested right away to check if you have been infected by any of your previous risk exposures. However, you are adviced to stop all exposures and take a conclusive test after 3 months from now.

Moreover, you may also test yourself for any other sexually transmitted diseases if necessary.

By the way did you notice any vague symptoms in you during this period. That could help to guess something. Only guess..Not diagonise.

Thanks
