Q: Alesse Side Effects - Bruising

I am 40 and my doc put me on alesse 1.5 months ago to help eliminate heavy periods. It works great but I started to set these spots on my leg and on my hand that turn into little bruises. They are gone in a few days and now I have a blood blister in my mouth!!! Is this a side effect of alesse?
I have lost weight and my periods are way lighter so I don't want to give it up. But these bruises quite frankly freek me out. Any advice would be great.

I've used alesse for 6 months and never really had that side effect. The only problem I had was a decrease in libido as with many other pills before that. I recently got an iud (Paragard.Com) inserted, and really like it so far. I was looking for non-hormonal method of birth control. Maybe you should let your doc know about this.
