Twins

Oi vey...

Well, I had my 20 week ultra-sound this past thursday (the last day of school, thankfully, also) and found out i'm having fraternal twins... Both appear female. I'm very excited because i'm keeping them both (and will have help from my mom and step-dad, plus my boyfriend wants them and is supportive though he lives 3 hours away right now).

These are the names we have picked out... I picked a boy and girl name and my boyfriend, josh, did the same (so that it's fair and we both get a say):

josh's picks:
nicholas arnold (arnold is a traditional middle name for his family)
evee danielle

my picks:
mei lin
oryan richard (my dad and grandpa are named richard, I would've been richard the third, but I was born female, lol)

anyway... Even with the help of both the parents I live with and the support of the babies' daddy (and my own father, by the way), I am still sure there are things I should know about raising twins. It won't be easy!

Any advice or sites to check into?

Thanks!

((my mom and I have school figured out and we're looking into wic, etc.))

**why won't it capitalize everything I capitalize? Odd forum style...

Do you happen to have an ultrasound picture of your twins to show us?

Lol, I was just getting that. My mom scanned it, she e-mailed it to me. I had to put it in photobucket...

Hopefully this works...

Http://i7.Photobucket.Com/albums/y270/msk tty89/babies/babyus.Jpg

the one style is "baby a" and the other is "baby b"... She didn't mean to make them each different styles, but she did. So both "3d" photos are of the one and both "flat image" photos are of the other.

It didn't work. Make an imagecave.Com account. Much more reliable.

When I test the link I can click on it with a magnifier, so they're not so small.

And what's confusing?

Thank you. =^_^=

hopefully next time they ultra-sound they'll get the same style of pictures printed for each. The lady I think was a bit pressed for time and was hurrying to fit in all the information for the two before I went to talk to the doctor.

Now, anyone have any sites on raising twins? Just wondering if there's any tips out there for me. :)

only one baby?

The two photos on the left are one, the two on the right are another. The lady that did the ultrasound printed them seperate styles for some reason.

If you can see, both left photos say "a" and both right photos say "b" for "baby a" and "baby b".

I didn't know the lady's mistake in printing would cause such confusion. :?

i didn't know they did that.

Like I said, it was a surprise, so the lady was trying hard to measure all she needed, etc., before I went to my doctor appointment.

The 2 forms, as I said, were her little mistake. She was in a hurry.

I'll have to see what they give me for photos next time, hopefully it'll be something that people don't question so much. :?

Congrads msktty! Your going to have your hands full! Do they run in your family? My boyfriends family has twins and his generation is supposed to be the lucky one to get them so we were kind of thinking it would be cool to get twins just a hell of alot of work lol. But they have only seen one baby with me and yesterday at the dr I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time and they havent said anything to me and it only looking like one baby. Only 14 weeks tho so who knows. Is it common to find out you are having twins that far into the pregnancy?? 8)

Identical twins run in his family, fraternal in mine (which is what these are). So we were deffinately the generation for them to hit again, lol. My mom's grandma or something was a twin (i don't remember exactly if that's right) and my boyfriend's uncles are twins, one of which just had a set of twins. So yeah.

When I went in and heard the heartbeat for the first time there was only one, too. The second time I heard it they measured me, too, and that's when they said I was measuring big and all that jazz.

You may still have twins, we'll have to wait and see!

Congrats! I would love to have twins!

And to mamiclaudia- it is common to find out you're having twins this far into pregnancy. They usually don't pick it up by doppler and if you only get 1 ultrasound (which is usually around 18-22 weeks) then that's when you'd find out. Sometimes they'll hear another heartbeat by doppler but even that could just be the placenta or something else, so they might schedule an u/s based on that. Also they might find your uterus is measuring ahead of where you should be (although my doctor doesn't check anything when I go in, I just hear the heartbeat and get sent on my way). So what a surprise that would be!
