Does This Sound Like Gallbladder Problems??? Posted: 05-26-06 16:26pm
Hi,i am 27 years old,female, and I have
been having problems for about a year now.
My symptoms include, burping a lot,
regurgatating my food sometimes,i have
this really heavy feeling in the bottom of
my chest most of the time, I also get pain
in the bottom of my chest behind my breast
bone and in between where the two bones
meet in the middle( my sternum,i
think!),if I eat a big meal it feels like
its on its way back up again after ive
eaten it and sits there for a while, I
also sometimes get like a sharp ache in my
ribs on the right side which makes my
shoulder blade hurt, also when the pain in
my sternum is bad that makes my back hurt
aswell. Ive been to see a consultant, I
have blood tests,a barium x ray, a chest x
ray, and a gastroscopy done, all of which
have come back showing nothing, he hasnt
once mentioned the possisility of it being
my gall bladder but after reading things
on here I wonder if its anything to do
with it?? I am waiting for an appionment
to have manometry tests done on my
oesophagus as he thinks it might be
oesophageal spasm. I dont know whether to
ask him to check my gall bladder but I am
worried he will think im telling him his
job! Is there anyone out there who has
had symptoms similar to these that have
resulted in gall bladder problems, please
help, I need some answers!

Yes, I have been having the same symptoms
pretty much and i'm a 20 year old male, it
all started with really bad pain one night
right in the middle of my stomach by my
belly button about a year ago and to this
day im still having constant pain. I
dont know if it could be pancreas or
gallbladder, but I have alot of excessive
belching and gas. I have been having
stomach pain for about a year now, and i'm
a 20 yr old male. I drank pretty heavily
(beer) for about 3 years. Ever since I
started having the stomach pain I have
stopped drinking. I constantly hurt
everyday, and as soon as I get done eating
I start belching alot and have excessive
gas. It hurts right around my belly
button mostly but it goes to my back and
sometimes left and right sides. I have
had a abdominal x-ray, barium ct scan of
abdomen (without the dye), complete
abdominal ultrasound, and amylase blood
test. All was normal. I just had an
upper gi done and waiting on results.
About a month ago I was hurting severely
bad and had a low grade fever and felt
really really sick, I had excrusiating
pain all around my belly button but it
went away after about a day and half. Out
of all the tests that I have had done can
there be any possible way that I have
chronic pancreatitis and they just haven't
found it, considering my amylase blood
levels were normal???????????? Thanks for
any advice and god bless..Also when this
started I weighed 180lbs and now I weigh
160lbs, I dont know if it has to do with
not drinking or what. My stools are often
pale looking, and seem to be greasy like
looking. Is the belching and excessive
gas a symptom of chronic
pancreatitis?????
You think this could be gallbladder or
pancrease related??

Hi there, has your doctor suggested the
possibilty of it being a gall bladder
problem, even though your ultra sound came
back normal? I havent had an ultrasound
done but not once has my doctor even
suggested the possibilty of my problems
being gall bladder related so I dont know
whether to just ask him for an ultra sound
or not? Most of the pain I get is in the
bottom of my chest which is why I have my
doubts about mine being my gall bladder?
I didnt know if anyone out there has had
gall bladder problems with pain or
discomfort in the sternum area?

I just had mine out in april and had all
my test results come back negative
including the hida scan cat scan and upper
gi if you have a inflamed gallbladder it
will say negative for bad gallbladder and
tell your doctor if thats what you think
your the one living with the pain not him.
I had all the symptoms except my food
didn't feel like it was coming up I used
to make it come up lol to get rid of the
pain well goodluck hope you get it out
soon cause thats what it sounds like to me
