Q: Just a Quick Question Guys.. Thanks

Hi all,

i was due on the 21st of may so am about 3 days overdue now, I think I just lost my mucus plug and was just wondering what happens now and what should you do once you have lost it? Does this mean something may happen soon?

Don't you think you should have called your doctor or gone to the hospital?Do you have any contractions?

Losing your mucus plug doesn't mean anything. Some women go in to labor immediately, but most still have to wait at least 2 weeks. Obviously you won't, because you're overdue already, but mine fell out 6 weeks before my daughter was born. Some women don't lose their mucus plug until after labor has started. There's no way of telling when you will go into labor.

With my first I lost it bout 1 befor I started pushin but with my secon I lost it 7 weeks befor I had him evry ones different an evry pregnancy

my sister lost hers within 8 hours of having her baby

Yeah so see? Its different for everybody. Even the same person but different pregnancies, you just can't tell.

7 weeks, wow. Can't it be dangerous to not have the mucus plug for that long?
