Q: Double Vision

If my eyes are not properly aligned it can create double vision. One of the doctors I went to said that I have a problem with my eye muscles. I can see a double image only above the object meaning if I turned my head to the side and was staring at the tv I would see another or part of the tv to the side. Depending on how far or large an object is I will or will not see a full double image. It is more noticable at night or on dark things against bright things/bright things against dark. I can see double with my glasses. The weird thing is that I can see double in each eye individually. If I close one eye
i still see double in the other. Everywhere i've read says that if you have an
eye muscle problem once you close one eye the double vision should go away in the other eye but mine doesn't. I have an astigmatism too but the doctor said it should go away with glasses, it doesn't. I've had this double vision for 3 to 4 years. I'm going to be seeing another doctor in a month or two. I just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas of what it could be...

I have double vision now also... I can see out of both of my eyes but I use only one eye at a time. I have had a total of 5 retinal detachments, cataracts, lens implants, and tons of holes repaired by laser. Even tho I only use one eye I can see double especially when I look in a certain direction. I have tried the botox shots, patching, etc... Nothing has worked.
