I started buying diapers at about 4 months along. I bought diapers every payday and stocked up. Diapers never go bad so I could stock pile them easily. ;)

i didn't know the sex of the baby, so bought mainly generic t-shirts, etc.

There isn't a 'set' time when you start buying things. Just whenever. By 8 months though, you should be ready to go.

I bought quite alot like a wooden high chair, baby bath, some cloths and terries nappies and then I miscarried ,i'll be 2months pregnant again this friday coming and I think i'll wait untill after my 3rd month (if I get that far) as after the 3rd month the chances of miscarriage are greatly decreased, not impossible but you have better chances. The only thing i'm buying are books as i'm a lover of all books and when you usualy see a book you want to but for your children I always find that I can never find it again.Good luck, jadexxxx

Chances of miscarraige after 18 months are very small. I'd start. That way you won't have to buy it all at once, you can spread out the cost of everything.

I'm 17 weeks and we already bought the crib and dresser/changing table and we just bought our stroller/travel system last weekend. Other than that i've just bought a few small things here and there like stuffed animals or clothes.

With my first child I started right away. I bough a lot of stuff for him and a crib. However I got really sick at 23 weeks and deliverd at 24.5 weeks and lost him. I gave away everything because I wanted nothing to remind me of him.

Now with this baby, I just believed that I would carry her to term and started buying stuff at 19 weeks because I found a bassanett for 20 dollars when it was origionally 100.00 and that started it all. I am now 29 weeks and 2 days. I have gotten a lot of stuff so far for my skoot. I am having a baby shower on 6/11 and another one on 06/30 so I am going to wait until then to see what I get and then go from there. Make since?
