Hello

i am new to the boards and very confused. I am 32 yr. I have been married and faithful for 6 yrs. My husband and I are ttc and going to have ivf cyle done. We had to get infectious disease tests done 1st. My test for syphilis came back +. But all my husbands test were -. My hep abc and hiv were also -. I did a confirmatory test for syphilis and it can back + also. The dr said I had a low titer and must have been exposed to syphilis in the past. I am currently on doxycycline for 30 days.

So in the mean time I contact all pass partners that I can think of. I finally talk to an old boyfriend from about 13 yrs ago in college. After talking to him he admits to me he has hsv 2 and hpv and that he got it during the same time he was dating me. He admits he was using drugs back then and doesnt know if he got it from sharing needles or someone. he says he has been testing for hepatita, hiv and sysphilis and all test were -

ok so now I am really freaked out. So my questions is does a syphilis test only detect syphilis? I have never had syphilis symptoms. I have only been with my hubby for the past 6 yrs and he was -. Can you have syphilis for more than 6 yrs and never get syptoms? I really think this is something from my college yrs so we are talking 9-13 yrs ago? Could I possibly have hsp2 and get a + syphilis test?

Any help would be appreciated
