That is just the beginning. I have been on it for one year. One thing I have to say is I hope you plan on loosing a lot of weight. I started taking topamax and weighed 126 lbs. Now I am 94 lbs. I wasn't able to eat, I would forget something I just said not even 5 minutes before, can't drink soda (tastes like metal), tingling in hands,feet, and face, dizzy, just so many. I am now coming off it because the dr says I lost to much weight. My family and friends think that I am sick and there is something wrong with me because I got so skinny. They say anorexia is a side effect I can see why but I try to not let that happen. Read up on it and read what other people have written in this forum you will learn more about it.

Did you lose weight with Topomax because you didn't have an appetite and ended up not eating, or what reason would you contribute to the weight loss? Also, I have been experiencing a almost permanent funny taste in my mouth with a numb tongue. Food doesnt taste funny to me, it's just that I've got this funny taste in my mouth the whole time, which is annoying. Has anyone else experienced this?
