Q: Joint Replacement?

Hi well im just waiting on my results from an mri scan. Around 1999 I started having problems with my jaw being painful. It had clicked for a few years, but I started a new job which was very stressful and I started with severe pain and then my jaw locked. I ended up having a bit of key hole surgery and eventually open surgery where my cartilage was stitched into place. This was ok for about 12 months until I started another job where I was having trouble with a colleague and I was back to square 1. Just short of 2 and a half years ago I had a cartilage replacement which again was good for around 12 months and then the pain started again so I put it off for a while but eventually decided I should go see my specialist. He thinks I either have severe scar tissue build up or the start of rheumatiod arthritis. Either way I will be having open surgery this year, but wednesday I will find out what type. My reason for posting is because if I have arthrisis I will have to have a joint replacement ( im only 26 ) and I wanted to know if any one else here had had this done and how its gone, has it worked etc.
Thanks guys.
