I was just diagnosed with having uterovaginal prolapse. Has anyone had this or have it now? Has anyone had the operation? I've been told about the option of having a passery inserted..But I find, after doing much research, these cause too many complications. I am a 60 year old woman, therefore, I have already gone through menapause. I've never taken any hrt. Since my prog. I've been prescribed vagifem but it made me very sick. Now i've been prescribed premarin. But after reading and hearing all the terrible side affects from estrogen, I choose not to take that.

Prolapse
I was diagnosed with a prolapsed uterus after the birth of our second child. That was 20 years ago. In the beginning I tried pessaries to no avail.

I have now been told I am in stage 4 (which is the worst stage) and I now need surgery. I have done everything the dr's told me to do - but the inevitable has happened.

I am premenopausal and I telling them not to take the ovaries. I understand this is very common

Passaries
Are they difficult to insert and clean or did your doctor insert to both. Were you uncomfortable using this passery? Did it cause you any damage inside? How long did you try using a passery?
