Q: Can Acid Inhibitors cause Stomach Cancer? Should I go to a

my stomach produces acid continously and i use pills including acid inhibitor like fomadin for years . i think i'm gastritis. i heard some hearsay that if i use such pills regularly i can be smotah cancer is it true or wrong should i go to doctor for biopsy. thanx for ur reply

Acid inhibitors doesn't seem to cause stomach cancer... but chronic gastritis could. You can visit a doctor to request an endoscopy (gastroscopy) to search for inflammation in the stomach (gastritis) , a peptic ulcer , and/or cancer. All these conditions exhibit similar symptoms. Therefore, a gastroscopy (with biopsy if necessary) is the correct protocol for making a diagnosis.
