... With all of you.

I went to a homeopathic doctor yesterday. Now, just to give you some background. He is a regular md but went on to study homeopathology in europe and he specializes in diabetics and hypoglycemics.

Anyway, I told him I was following stan's diet and what it entailed and he thought this was great. So, stan, thumb's up to you! :)

also, stan mentions no chlorinated water ... My doctor goes on step further ... Every faucet in the house should have a filter on it. The reason? Chlorinated water heat = chloriform gas.

Lastly, as a result of not taking proper care of my hypoglycemia, I have a weakened heart and I am not old. So, stumars, please follow your diet. And don't "experiment" until you're absolutely ready and only small quantities.

I've heard that about chlorine. I actually have a chlorine filter on our shower head. They're pretty cheap and last a year. Good to hear I now have professional backing for my diet! Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!! Maybe I should get in touch with that guy, I would need an md to verify that my information is correct if I tried to publish...

You don't have to really, like I said before I just try to eliminate as many toxins from my diet as possible. You can buy big refill jugs and get water for like 39 cents a gallon, so it really isn't that expensive. For one person, you'd be running about an extra 3 dollars a week.

Stan, my doctor is pretty progresssive and I think he would welcome the idea, regarding your book. And he also told me to change my shower head! (that's more validation for you! :)

stumars, i'm trying to completely detoxify my body because of how bad my symptoms got. That's why I don't drink tap water. I am more concerned about you swaying from your diet than drinking the tap.

There is actually a lot of evidence about various water problems. The government could easily filter out chlorine, but it costs more money so of course they don't do it. The thing about it is that it typically takes awhile to show signs of damage to the body, unless you have a chronic illness of some sort, then you tend to be sensitive to it. My father's friend used to puke if he'd drink tap water. The thing we have to remember is that chlorine is a powerful chemical. It can kill you in straight form. In the way we use it, it kills harmful things in the water. You have to remember though, it kills whatever it touches. So when you drink it, it has a tendency to kill whatever is around, which unfortunately tends to be good bacteria. I've also heard it can damage arteries and such but I don't think there's enough evidence for that. Also, drinking from out of plastic bottles too much is supposed to be bad for you. The fda actually admitted not too long ago that plastic bottles, if used more than twice, will begin to break down the plastic, leaking molecules or whatever into the water, since water is a solvent. Their statement was something to the effect of "it would take drinking 4-5 gallons of water every day from plastic jugs to show serious damage over time." notice the wording, serious damage. They don't say anything about minor or moderate damage, which should be the main concern. The thing is that they actually admitted it does harm the body. I use these special containers, I think it's called polypropelyne or something. It's like glass and plastic combined but it doesn't break down.

That's quite interesting and alsoe very frightening. I wouldn't put much stock into "it won't do any serious damage". I say, why take that chance?

I've heard things about plastic containers and I prefer glass over everything else. I feel its easier to clean and heat stuff in.

Btw, since we're still on the subject of water. What's your take on mineral water?

Good thing you mention that. I purchase reverse osmosis water and treat it with "trace mineral drops." they're basically like sea water with the salt taken out, full of minerals, so anything like this, minus carbonation, would be good.

I can actually get real mineral water (not the perrier kind) in ny. It comes in glass bottles and I actually like it better. Wow, something I like that I can have ... Who would have thought :)
