Angioedemia Urticaria-anyone Else Have It?
Posted: 08-15-03 12:48pm

Was wondering if anyone other than myself has diagnosed problems with hives and swelling? I'm constantly searching for cures and causes and have never done so yet. I am open to opinions and ideas. I may be able to offer some as well. Everyone's system is so different. Thank you!

Holly, this is a reply to your concerns regarding angiodemia unticaria. I believe I have this condition as well and it is very brothersome. After going to doctor after doctor, I finally found something over the counter to control it. Without this medication it would be controlling me. It horrible. Do you have any information on what other treatments or causes for this condition. Is it chronic to the point where it will show up as something else. Please post a reply--terryfew

Hey hivegirl,

if it makes you feel any better your not the only one...Im only 15 and im basically going through what you are...The doctors have tried to figure out what is wrong with me, but couldnt figure it out. If you need some tips, at the top of the page...Where it says quick search, type in angioedemia, then click on the link that isnt yours, there should only be one, scroll down and find the post I made, it may bring you some help. Or at least some things your could ask your doctor so your life isnt miserable.

please let me know what medication you are taking. My husband has palm, feet, throat and tongue swelling. From what i've read here I believe it's anxiety related (son went into army recently). Any help appreciated.

hello.. Hives and swelling...
You are allergic to something that u have eaten or used such as changed washing powder or softener.. You need to keep a food dairy of foods eaten and if u have changed washing powders make note.. Of anything new..
With ure food book, u need to write down anything u eat... When u get the hives fold that page down.. Or two pages..When ever u discover it fold those pages down..
And dont eat anything on those pages till hives have gone.. Takes 2 to 10 or more for them to go away..
Once gone go back to the pages u folded over and add one food at a time until u get the hives..
This is how u will be able to figure out what it is u are allegic to..
As far as getting rid of the hives and swelling... The only way to do this is to figure out what u are allergic to.. And never eat it again.. It can be more than one thing u are allergic to..
Useally it is something u eat alot of.. Could be ure favorite food..
Hives and swelling.. Hives are big spottchy red swelling spots ..They itch and if u scratch they will hurt.. And spread sometimes down a arm or leg..
My doctor tried a experiment.. That I now live with daily...
I take zertec and zantec together..It really helps.. Plus I stay away from pork...
Sometimes when I do eat it by accident ...Depending on how much it was ..
Like the other day I went to "on the border" I was asking about something I was eating.. And the manger came out and said that the refried beans had pork juice in it.. Well too late..I ate two spoon fulls.. But them beans were salty so I didnt eat any more..But dang had me worried all day that I might get sick..
But because of the zertec and zantac.. I didnt get any hives..At all..
Or any other problems..Thank god for that...
Good luck and hope u find out what u are allergic to..
Remember..Get a food dairy book and figure it out what u are allergic to

Angioedemia

My husband was recently diagnosed with angioedemia (hives). He experienced swelling on hands, feet, but the throat swelling was the most terrifying.

The doctor determined it was caused by anxiety (son is in military overseas) and prescribed xanax, which takes the edge off his anxiety.

Since taking the medication he has had no reoccuring episodes. He stopped taking if for a few days, but the swelling returned.

Hope this cure helps someone else. The doctor also advised him to go to counseling in order to learn to deal with his anxiety and not to rely on the xanax, which, he says, can be habit-forming.

Hi all
since my son had his attack of hives I have been looking like you have all sayed at what he had eaten the day before and I have sayed since it happen that it was connected too the cheese will explain I dont as a rule have cheese in the house re it gives me a head ache from hell but my son bless loves cheese and as he had not been eating I was experimenting with different ideas anything too get him to eat ( this was before hives )

well in short I was having a convastion a few days after the attack of hives and someone happen too say what sort of cheese ( chedder ) and I was asked if I had checked the packet my answer ( was no cheese is milk ) so I did not think about it at time

well I have now checked it out and on the packet it sayes not very clearly ( may contain nut or seed ) hmmmm and yes it was that small I did not see it but that seems too be the way of these food comanys )

my doctor now sort of agree that it could have been an nut allegic reaction that started the hives reaction and I have banged the drum for patch test too see if there is anything else that I need too look out for ( I know this may not show all that I may have too watch for but its a start )

well they are not happy about testing him he him being 2 and a half they say its to younge and my answer was simply I want him too grow up and these test may or may not help him do that ( oh he may grow out of it ) yep he may do or he may not as my daughter sayes she still waiting :?:

I had hives for a year straight from head to toe. I thought I was going to die of depression at one point. I cried and stayed in my room for a year. I have a husband and two young daughters and it was hard on them. I went to every specialist known. I tried every product and spent about 10k trying to help my hives.I got fed up and decided I had to get my life back. I don' t believe in western medicine anymore. Just read how many of these problem have no answers by doctors. I had to change my life style and habits.I have been hive free for a year and a half. I still stick to my changes everyday of my life and probably always will. I have found great products after all these years. It is not just one product that will make a difference it is a change of life.

Please, I had hives for 1 1/2 year. It took me an insane amount of research, and I finally solved it. Afterwards I used the same technique, so far on my count 9 people have completely gotten rid of chronic urticaria/hives.

Do the following.... No medicine needed. The cause is "detergent residue" and most people in their life time are not commited enough to solve it. Follow these techniques, it has not failed once.

1.) get rid of all your clothes. Throw them away or put them in a plastic bag air tight. You'll likely never wear them again.

2.) buy all new clothes. Preferably loose instead of tight. If you are budget strapped, buy just enough full sets of clothes for a 2 week rotation only.

3.) buy a new bath towel. Only use this one.

4.) get rid of your bed sheets and blankets. Buy new ones.

5.) before you do laundry, pre rinse 1 cycle with just water.

6.) when you do laundry, don't use any detergent. Use baking soda only. The hard part is making sure the people who share machine with you don't use detergent either!!!!

7.) now wash everything you bought a couple times with baking soda only. Towel, bed sheets, clothes.

8.) only wear your newly purchased clothes, all cotton. No polyester.

9.) only sleep on the bed with the new bed sheets.

10.) exercise daily enough to sweat the existing residue off. If you can't workout and sweat, take a detox bath. Make sure the bath tub is detergent free. No trace of any chemicals etc.

11.) wipe any furniture/couch/chair you might have very clean. Detergent residues are practically invisible.

12.) I have not met one person who was not cleared of this problem after 4-6 weeks. 4 weeks if you are committed!!!!

Allergies are considered an autoimmune disorder, since they are caused by an over-reaction of the immune system whereby the body produces too many antibodies to neutralize an antigen.

Strengthening your immune system is a must and can be done naturally…drop me an e-mail and I will send you some information.

Yours in health,

stephane
