Q: Getting An Exam

When I go to the doctor, and she examines my vagina, you know, she puts something in there with a little light to see inside, and all that, and she feels my ovaries and uterus, it hurts very bad. Is it supposed to hurt? Because I just can't stand it, it's like a stabbing pain, or burning, or something. I just wanted to know if it was normal, or if this was supposed to be painless.
