Hi all. Well just a few months ago, I got a sick. I got it from my son.. I thought it was just an ordinary cold but it wasnt going away and I had a really bad cough that wouldnt stop for days. I took a zpack and finally it went away. But all those nights on the couch coughing and not sleeping were horrible. Now I am sick again. My son picked up something and of course I got it. It feels like what I had before, starting with a very sore throat..I have been taking very high doses of vitamin c.. I started taking them when I first felt a scratchy throat. Sunday I took about 12,000 mg of vit c, about 15,000 mg yesterday and so far today I have taken 4,000 mg. By the way does anyone have a good schedule for taking vit c.. And how much do I have to take to get rid of this? I am really hoping I dont have a bacterial infection but im pretty sure that is what I had last time..Anyway I am really considering getting the flu shot when I get over this. Will it prevent colds as well as the flu? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks everyone!!

Immunomax
You might want to consider taking a supplements such as immunomax to improve your immune function. Vitamin c is great but it's not always enough.

For more info on immunomax see

good luck!

A person doesn't need all that vitamin c on a daily basis. A glass of pure orange juice (or 2) would probably be enough. All your body does with the excess is get rid of it, it doesn't keep it in and help with sickness at all. Just a thought so your not spending loads of money on all this vitamin c when you don't have to be.

Another thing you (and your son) could start taking is echinacea. The common myth with it though is that it stops you from getting sick once you feel something coming on.. But thats not the case, you are supposed to take it everyday (like a vitamin) and its supposed to help you from getting sick in the future. I know alot of people that swear by it. Give it a try.
