I discovered a hard lump on my skull behind my ear. It's painful when I press it. It was followed by a small softer lump in the cavity below my earlobe which is painful when pressed. Also in fromt of my ear there is swelling and pain. The whole side of my face feels sore. I also have a bump on my scalp which is painful when pressed and is also sore on the skin. The others are all internal. What might this be and are they connected?

Pain Behind the Ear
Hi,
i had a similar thing happen to me last year and the doctor couldn't figure it out. I actually decided to consult my chiropractor, because he used to be a physical therapist and is quite knowledgable. He told me it sounded like my second vertabrae had been knocked out of alignment. Sure enough, he was the one who fixed the problem with just a minor adjustment. I just had the pain and swelling behind the ear, but he said that paricular problem could cause all the symptoms you are explaining, like the pain on the side of the face. Not sure if this is what is happening with you, but thought you may want to consider it.

Thanks for the info.
I saw a doctor who thought the swelling on the side of my face was from my jaw. Now the swelling is gone but the lump behind my ear is still there but no pain.
