I haven't been to the doctor yet (waiting on a military id for insurance) but i've had a few warning signs that I might be a diabetic and was wondering if it seems likely? To begin with, when I was 13 I went to the doctor for some sores on my feet and legs and he found protein in my urine but wasn't sure why. I've also been diagnosed with chronic migraines, which i've had since I was about 10 years old (possibly associated with low blood sugar?). Anyway, I bought an accu-chek tester to get an idea of my blood sugar level before I go to the doctor. At 4:00pm I tested my sugar and had not eaten since 9:00am. It was 128. At 8:30pm and 9:30pm I performed some more tests and it was around 109 each time. Isn't it supposed to be higher than normal after you eat? I thought it was a bit strange.

According to labtest online http://www.Labtestsonline.Org/under standing/analytes/glucose/test.Html a fasting level from 70 to 109 mg/dl is considered normal. Above 126 mg.Dl is diabetic. Optimal control range is:(100-175 mg/dl)(6-10 mmol/l) intensive :(71-125 mg/dl)(4-7 mmol/l) moderate:(125-200 mg/dl)(7-11 mmol/l) test when you first wake up(fasting) and see what you get
