I had protected sex with a woman about a
month ago. About 10 days later a had some
redness around the base of my penis with
some itching but it only lasted about 2
days. Then about 2 weeks later I got some
redness and itchiness around the base of
my penis again but this time it lasted
about 5 days. Each time this happened I
shaved down their a couple of days before
and I also am very active by playing
sports and running so I was wondering if
that could be the cause but I never really
had something like this before. While
searching the internet I read that
itchiness and redness can be symptoms of
herpes but I never had any sores or
blisters. What do you think this could
be?

If the sex was protected and you have no
other symptoms I would say it's unlikely
to be herpes, but no protection is 100%.
