I was considering having a medical abortion but have now changed my mind and am oting for a surgical one.
I have booked in for the local anaesthetic as it is more within my price range (cost is a problem for me as I am a student), but I am worried about the pain of an injection in my cervix.

If anybody has had the local anaesthetic I would appreciate your opinions.

Thanks

If you feel the injections, and some women do not , they will feel a lot like a funny cramping feeling. The actual abortion procedure will feel like intense menstrual cramps, but will only last a few minutes.

Thanks carifairy, you've been a great help to me over the last week.
Better help than most here, they're great in their own way but end up upsetting me by trying to be nice. They just dont get what i'm going through.

Again, thanks.

You are very welcome!

I like to give accurate information:)

i have heard a lot of great things about bpas, I believe you will be in good hands.

I know you are getting local anesthesia, but I think they may also offer some sort of 'gas' as a pain relief option, like perhaps nitrous oxide. Which would be included in the price.. I am pretty sure..Hey, anything extra for free you can get, take it.. 800 mg of ibuprofen helps too, they may give it to you there..

I am sorry some people have been less than helpful. I realize that many people want a baby and are ready to start a family, but we are not. I only wish you had abortion easily acessable for you.
