Anti-perspirant

Hi
i have been getting migraines for about a year or two on and off. They come in bursts for a few weeks with a migraine almost every day, then go away for maybe months. I think though that have have observed a coincidental link between a roll-on anti-perspirant (alcohol based) I sometimes use. Does anyone think its at all possible that this could be the trigger? I find it unlikely and have found nothing on the internet about it, but there does seem to be a link. I only realised this last night when I had a particularly bad one after slathering myself in the stuff before going to a summer ball so I havent had time to test the theory. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

Yeah!! I have used deoderants before that gave me headaches... or shampoo, etc. It's the fragrance in them. Have you tried less fragranced products?

Headaches that are associated with a product like that are generally an allergic reaction to something in the product. As Georgia said, it could be the fragrance. I am very sensitive to fragrance as well. I will get an immediate headache from some fragrances. Just walking through the perfume section of a store will trigger a migraine headache. Avoid the antiperspirant and try one without fragrance. There are some natural products out like Tom's of Maine which is less likely to have ingredients that will trigger an allergic response. Perhaps trying a natural product is worth a go.
