Pregnancy Q and A Forum - Could I Be Preg?

Can someone tell me what's the earliest that a pregnancy test will show up positive. My period is due tomorrow and I took one test this monday and one on wednesday and they showed negative. I did use first response, so it should show up earlier. Aren't those test supposed to work well early?
