I am a 32 year-old male who was recently
diagnosed with epidymitis and took cipro
for 10 days. Things got much better for a
day or two, then symptoms returned. I
went to a urologist who diagnosed me with
prostatitis and put me on septra. Again,
symptoms got much better for a few days,
then returned. Doc then put me on
doxycycline for 15 days. Again, things
got much better for a few days. Now, with
about 5 days left of the doxy, symptoms
are back in full force.
Mainly, it's testicular pain, low
abdominal pain, slight burning in urethra,
and difficulty voiding.
I'm really freaking out because I keep
reading about chronic, intractable
prostatitis that never goes away. Is this
what i'm looking at? I've read that
sometimes you need anti-biotics for 4-12
weeks. If that's the case, do symptoms
come and go for the first few weeks of
anti-biotics? Or does the fact that mine
aren't responding quickly mean that i'm
likely looking at incurable prostatitis?
