Do any of you tmj sufferers have leg pain?
Specifically in the backs of your
thighs. Also perhaps hip pain? I saw
on the net somewhere that this could be a
symptom, but can't find it now.

Okay, no responses, so i'm guessing that
leg pain is not a common symptom
i'm thinking I might have fibromyalgia
along with the tmj
when I go off my pain meds, my jaw joint
hurts, my hips and legs hurt, and the
joint in my thumb swells up
i can't get in to see a rhuematologist
until the end of july :(

I got tmj from grinding / clenching my
teeth at night and lately i've been having
pains throughout my body short ones but it
still hurts for no reason I dont think its
from tmj but ya I think I may have that
fibromyaniaa thingy too. :(

leg pain ----I have it. the pain at the
back of the thigh is usually caused by the
sciatica nerve. If you find a good
chiropractor they can help with that. they
can also help with the jaw as well. make
sure that they are familiar with tmj and
if not take all the info on it that you
can to them. that will help them
understand and learn to better help you.

tmj & leg pain Posted: 11-16-08 01:19am
i suffer from tmj and about 3 weeks ago i
received my new "mouth piece" to correct
it which i wear 24/7. it seems ever since
then, my legs ache incredibly, especially
around my knees. they feel as if i ran a
marathon. they hurt more and more
throughout the day. i've gone to a dr
after 3 weeks and they are uncertain. the
pain is also in my hips. i'm afraid that
if i discontinue the mouth piece my
horrible headaches will come back and i
can't stand to do that either. good luck
in finding out about your pain.

i dont think this is related to the mouth
peice directly. i think that you need a
chiropractor that would help not only with
the leg pain but also with the tmd and the
headaches
