Q: Muscle Cramps/burning When Sleeping On Left Side

I have had recurring problem that seems to occur randomly. When I sleep on my left side I wake up in varying levels of pain. It starts with a pain behind my left knee. Quite often I then have a burning ache in the muscles above and below the knee towards the outside. On some occasions it also occurs in my arm in the outer muscles just below the shoulder joint and/or around the elbow. It usually subsides after I change positions but sometimes lingers. Today for instance I woke at 5 am in worse pain than ever and it is noon and my arm and behind my knee still have a burning sensation though not as severe.

Could this be a nerve problem or some strange disorder? Anyone know?
