Q: Ligament Damage?

I have recently been on crutches for a knee injury. On sunday morning (3 and 1/2 days ago) I reached up and across my body to open a broken shower door and heard a loud popping/cracking noise in my back which was coupled with a sharp, stabbing pain that didn't dissapate for a day. Now when I move around I have terrible pains in my upper back (out near lowest. Inner-most point of scapula (shoulder blade). I have seen a doctor who referred me to a physiotherapist and am waiting for my appointment.

Has anyone had similar problems? Or know what I may have done? Could it just be a pinched nerve (although I have no numbness or pins and needles which are 2 of the 3 symptoms of pinched nerves)? Or, could I have ruptured the ligament that connects rhomboid muscle to scapula? Or just torn the muscle?

Thanks!
