My doctor said I have chlamydia. He gave me a single dose of azithromycin 1g. It has been 5 days, all of my symptoms are gone except a little burning sensation on the tip of my penis.

Is this normal and will that go away?

that's a good question. i was in a similar situation and the doc gave me a 10 day dose of 500mg ciprofloxacin after i expressed similar concern. i had waited about another week after the initial 1x dose of azithro before asking my doc for another dose.

my concern now is that i found out that my partner's test came back neg. i was certain she had to have been the one that gave it to me. i showed symptoms 6 weeks after we started having unprotected sex. we have had mostly unprotected sex for those 6 weeks. if i am positive, i would have thought she must definitely be positive due to our unprotected sex. what ar ethe chances that this is accurate? i'm starting to not believe her. i haven't had a sex partner for 1 year prior and that was with my long term gf of 5 years, and have kissed only one other girl 3 months ago. i had no symptoms prior to this new girl so i can't see how i could have caught it from anyone else other than this new girl!?

Did you ever figure out how you contracted this STD? Your situation is almost identical to mine, only I have been married for 38 years and never cheated. I came down with the same infection, but my wife tested negative.

Im sure it will go away.......that antibiotic works for about 7-10 days. It's not done working fully yet. If in a week or so your still experiencing that problem I would see the doc again and they can give you another dose.
