This is my fifth month taking seasonale, and it has not been good so far. It is my first time taking birth control, and I keep thinking i'm pregnant because of all the weird side effects. I know the pill is supposedly 99% effective-maybe I am paranoid. The most common and irritating side effect is the breakthrough bleeding. It happens even when it is not time for my period and lasts longer than a period. I am definitely going to the doctor next week. I'm wondering, though, if I should stick with it a little longer. Some women have said that once your body adjusts after the second cycle, everything is fine. If someone has gone through something similar and has advice, I welcome it.

Anytime you skip periods you run a risk of breathrough bleeding and spotting, some women find that so troublesome taht they decide to stop using seasonale.

Birth control does cause sore breasts, and other symptoms that could be mistaken for pregnancy, so it is not in your head..

Birth control is 99% effective.
