Ok, I just started taking birth control a
week ago. How long does it take for birth
control to take effect? ( to decrease the
chances of getting pregnant )

Some say a week. Others say a full month
(entire pack of pills). I would use
protection until you get your first
withdrawal bleed.

The first time I went to the doctor for
bc, they told me to use protection for a
week, and after then it should be fine to
just use bc. If you stop taking bc for a
longer period of time I would imagine
protection for the first week would be
considered as a precaution again.
