My husband has had problems with diarrhea(sp) for the last two years. He had a quack for a doctor until last month when we changed due to a move. The doctor he had, we found out later, was at a clinic that gave out bonuses for not doing tests

and there were plenty of things that he did wrong concerning my husband.
Anyway, this new doctor had done more research and tests to get to the bottom of his problems than that other guy did in 10 years. Last week, the dr did a scope of his colon and found "numerous" polyps and he didn't like the color of the colon. He did a biopsy on a couple of the polyps that we should hear the results from today or tomorrow.
Now for my questions:
1. I thought that the first sign of colon cancer was blood in the stool. Dh had a stool test done by the old dr about a year ago(not saying much for doing it right), but they said there wasn't anything unusual. Dh hasn't seen any dark or reddish spots in his stool though.
2. Dh had a complete blood test done with the new dr and they said that everything came out normal, except for the chol which we knew about. I thought that the red cell count should be abnormal with cancer.
3. People usually have weight loss with cancer. My dh is far from that. And he isn't very tired also, just normal stress triedness from the holiday season winding down.
4. How many times do these polyps come back as cancer or just growths?
That's enough for now. I'm sure that i'll come up with some more as I get responses. Thanks in advance for any help.
