I am seven weeks, 2 days. I have an
ultrasound scheduled for sunday. Is this
too early to determine if everything is
alright with my baby?? Just curious.

At 7 weeks, you can have an ultrasound to
determine if there is a live fetus, but
you can't really determine much else.
Your baby will look like a little peanut!
If you want to know the sex of the baby,
I would wait until 21-23 weeks just to
give the organs more time to develop. If
your insurance will pay for 2 ultrasounds,
go for it, but if you were wanting to
determine the sex of your baby, wait until
the later date. Most insurance companies
won't pay for more than one ultrasound
unless there is a medical problem.
Goodluck!

No, its not wayy to early...I had one done
at five weeks but the baby was too small
to be seen, and then I had one done at
eight weeks and they just wanna do an
ultrasound to make sure that ur not gonna
have a tubal pregnancy and that everything
looks normal, they wont b able to tell
much about tha baby, but itll help in
determining a better more accurate due
date...Take care

Most girls that I know of here(canada)
have many ultrsounds done throughout their
pregnancies. Is this normal?? How doed
one know if its a tubal? Any symptoms??

I posted this to your other question, but
yes, I have heard that it is very painful.
If a tubal is not taken care of promptly,
it can cause reproductive problems in the
future. I have not had a tubal pregnancy
my self, so I am not too sure about it.
Check into it through search engines. A
good one is dogpile.Com I would think that
if it were an emergency, she would have
the ultrasound performed stat
(emergency-right away) don't worry too
much, the stress is bad for your baby.
Good luck, and keep us posted!
