Plantar Fasciitis & Extracorporeal Shock Wave - Thoughts
Posted: 05-05-06 18:38pm

I have been sufffering from plantar fasciitis for three years now in both feet and can no longer stand this excruciating pain. I have run the gambit on therapies - excercises, stretching, analgesics, shoe inserts, and several courses of cortizone shots. Nothing has cured me. The cortizone shots help for approximately a month and then i'm back to hobbling around like a jerk. My walking window of opportunity is only about 2 hours before the pain sets in.

I've been to a wonderful doctor who is working with me every step of the way (pun intended  ) and has suggested a new option called extracorporeal shock wave therapy that I am scheduled for in two weeks. I have researched this procedure and it sounds like it might do the trick. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has already had this procedure and was willing to share their experience - good or bad? Any feedback would be wonderful! :) if you've had this procedure, what did you think?

I sympathize with you about the pain. Working as a hairdresser and being on my feet all day was awful. I bought a pair of shoes called "zcoils" I have had them for 3 years and they work amazing. The shoes have a spring coil in the heel that absorbs your weight when you walk. They do not give you the sensation of bounce like they appear to. The shoe has really caught on with nurses and doctors. There are several styles to choose from.
