Boy Or Girl?
Posted: 01-08-04 15:24pm

Hi I went to the doctors today and the lady checked to see if she could hear the heartbeat. I am nine weeks pregnant and we heard it loud and strong. I told my mother this and she said that since I heard it so early that I am going to have a girl. But I was thinking that since there is new technology today that the heart beat can be heard earlier now than it could back then. Has anyone else heard it early and is it common? Or is my mother right??

Not necessarily. I had my first ultrasound when I was 9 weeks and 6 days. I heard the heart beat also. But i'm having a boy. I think your theory about technology is right.

Chinese Birth Chart

Jackie-
have you ever heard of the chinese birth chart. If you go to google and search chinese birth chart, you can actually find out what your having just by calculating the day and age you conceived. I tried it with all my friends as well as myself and so far it has come out to be true. You should try it. For fun at least.

I checked out the chinese birth chart a while ago and it said I am having a boy. But I know its not 100% positive either as it says on the web site that it is strictly for entertainment purposes. I just read a few posts from other people and the said that at 10 weeks it is too early to hear the heartbeat. Oh well, as long as its a healthy baby I don't mind what it is ....

The doctor I saw for my first pregnancy always said during every visit that I was having a girl by the sound and speed of the heartbeat. I don't see that doctor anymore, not because of that but for other important reasons, but just to end the story, I had a boy.

I have never heard that theroy before....However I have heard that if the baby has a higher heartbeat like above 150 that it isverypossible that you will be having a girl andif its lower it may be a boy....Mytheroy is also supported because research has shown that boys normally have lower heart rates and girls normaly have hgher ones

I did not ask my doctor my baby's heart rate but I will next visit. I know these old wives tells are not very accurate but they are fun just to see if they will be the truth with your own pregnancy. With my last I took a test on childbirth.Org called "boy or girl". Its a test with about 20 or so old wives tales and it told me I was having a girl and I did. This pregnancy it said I have a 89% chance of having a boy and 21% chance of having a girl. I hope it will be right this time also. I took it more than three times just to make sure it would way the same thing. It has a question about the baby's heart rate but like I said I did not know my baby's. I'll try again on tuesday to add that part to the test. You should try it.

If you go to yahoo.Com and search for baby sex predictors you might find a height predictor. It may not be right and you may not care but some might. I thought it was funny.
