Hello All,

My wife and I are very confused as what to do. We been together for 21 years and married for 17 years. We had our son in 1994 after I was I found out that I had testicular cancer, I had surgery to have my testical with the tumor removed and then another one to remove the lyphnodes in my chest. After my First and Before my second surgery, My wife became pregnant with my son. A year later, my wife had a tubal pregnancy that we never forgot about. Then my wife came down with Crohn's Disease and had a foot and a half out her small intestine removed. She was down to 78 pounds and been doing wonderful after her surgery. We tried for several years after that to have another child and had to do artificial insemination and lot of testing for her to become pregnant with my daughter. She was born in 2003, beautiful and healthy. Shortly after that, my was went back in to have another surgery for her Crohn's Disease. My son is now 15 years old, my daughter is now 7 and we have a tight 3 bedroom house. We are both approaching 40 years old and just found out that my wife is pregnant again. We do not know if we should keep it or abort it. We are concerned about my wife's health with her Crohn's, We have no room for a baby, money is tight and we are worried about the other two children getting jealous. We are both enjoying some freedom not that our kids are getting older and to start again everyone thinks we are nuts. We do not know if we should keep the baby or abort it at 5 weeks? This is a very hard choice for the both of us to make. If my wife was totally health, if we had another room and more money, we would be 100% for it. What do you all think we should do? Please do not attack us if you against abortions, we are both confused enough? This has to be the hardest choices that we ever made. My wife is going to her doctor to take the early pill, I hope all will be ok.

Thanks

Only you can decide on what to do, you cannot expect another to make the decision for you. That being said, if you cannot afford another child, and due to your wife's medical condition, I would seek the advice of a doctor, who can tell you the individual risks she will face, not only due to her Crohn's but also her advanced maternal age. The more informed you are, the better you can make a decision, and the better you will feel about the decision you made. Abortion is NOT an easy choice, and neither is deciding to parent when you are strapped for cash and have other issues (medical or not) to think about. Good luck, whatever you decide.
