Well hun, maybe the surprise will be good
for you. I wish sometimes we didnt' find
out. But good luck to you. You can pay
to have another one done if you would
like. I am sure they will do that for
you.

Aww... Well now you get to be surprised!
I feel for you though, my u/s is on the
31st and i'll be so upset if they can't
tell the sex. Was your baby just not
active or did he/she have their legs
crossed? I'm thinking of having some
juice on top of the water I have to drink
just so the sugar gets the little bugger
moving. Anyone know how often they can't
tell the sex? From the looks of things
around here it's not very often.

I found out at 20 weeks. At first they
said they couldn't tell, but then he moved
and they could see better. I don't know
what the percentage on it is or anything,
but i'd probably try to get some sugar in
if I were you so that he/she will move.
Also, unless your doc has a different kind
of u/s machine ( my sil's doc does), get
your bladder as full as you possibly can.
It will be uncomfortable when the tech is
pressing on your belly, but it'll be worth
it! Lol

I'm only going to be 18 weeks 1 day but
they insisted that would be good enough to
tell the sex. Also, I have to go the
hospital to get it done so I know the
machine will be a good one (as opposed to
the fuzzy ones at most doctors offices).
And they told me to drink 32 oz of water 1
hour before my appointment. I'm going to
do that and then drink something sugary as
well. I've had ultrasounds before (not
this pregnancy) and I remember how bad I
had to pee and how uncomfortable I was.
Now i'm worried that they won't be able to
tell. I wish I could have it more around
20 weeks but I don't have a say in it. :(

I know it's a pain. I had complications
in my pregnancy so I got 5 ultrasounds and
they could not tell till my last one at 27
weeks. I hated it because I didn't know I
was going to get another u/s after each
one...So each time I thought it was my
last.
It's sucha pain, lol i'm such an
impatient person.
Good luck in finding out!

Heey thanks everyone for ur replies. Ya I
couldn't handle all the water I was
suppose to dirnk for my ultrasound , I
threw it up right b4 I left for my
ultrasound , so instead I tried something
with sugar in it ., I had 5 glasses of
icetea and they said I was full enough so
I think that the baby had enough sugar
lol. But then he had problems seeing
parts of the baby cuz it wouldn't sit
right, so he got me to lye on my side and
it still wasn't working, so I had to wait
20 min. Then try again and he just got
it. So yah, guess thats why he coudln't
tell , the baby wasn't being very
coroportatve. But he says they all are.
Hope he wasn't just trying to make me feel
better lol. Neways, I wish u could just
book an ultrasound to find out, and pay or
something. But guess that wastes their
time for " non medical things" /.
Anyways, ill find out around sept 26 hehe
