Can I Be Pregnet
Hi I had a Tubal Ligation Three years ago after my third child. I have had all my periouds regualarly,About three weeks ago I had this awfull pain and pressure that started from under my brests, and went to the lower pary of abdomen,It was a scary feeling and almost dropped me to my knees. It lasted about a second and that was it. I went to bed and the next morning I had spotted. I had finished my period a week and a day before all this so I didnt think anything. Later that day I noticed more blood, I bleed lightly for 4 days so I called my doc she told me to take a pregnacy test and if it was positive to go to the hospital. It came out negitive.I have been feeling like I need to throw up My brests have been leaking and I am waking up sweating almost every night.I have had bad headaches and have been sleeping alot. I have a belly like Im 5 or so months pregnet and pressure like something is pushing in there like it did with my kids when I was pregnet, I am loosing weight but I feel pregnet, I have all the simptoms. I went to see my doctor and she took a pregnecy test and it came back negitive, could I still be pregnet and not be showing on a test?

hello, i think your doctor should have done more tests to rule things out, did your doctor do a blood test for pregnancy? you should go back to your doctor and get an ultrasound and a pelvic exam and additional blood tests.
you may be pregnant, but if ypu are it could be ectopic due to the tubal you had, but let's hope it implanted in the uterus! sometimes if you are real early in the pregnancy the urine tests won't resd it right it depands on how much hcg hormone there is yopu may not have a high amount of it yet and that can also say early, early pregnancy. if you still feel like this and your tummy is still bloated you need to just go to the doctors.

hello, I had my tubal ligation back in april of 2002 and also regret it... been married for 6 years and have no children together. I have been having all the symptoms of pregnancy, bloating, breasts hurt and ache, nipples tender and sore, sick to my stomach, vomiting, tiredness, pelvic pain and pressure, cravings and so on...took 2 urine tests, and also a blood test but all came back negative. went to docters and had an internal exam and he said that my cervix is fine but my uterus is enlarged. going for an ultra-sound on monday. hope its a baby and nothing else.. kinda worried. does anyone else know what this could mean?

well if you are super early in your pregnancy(if you happen to be) sometimes home tests will read negative but usually the blood test would pick it up but it didn't, so since your uterus is enlarged it may be pregnancy and it might have implanted in the uterus! are you still having your menstrual cycle? and if so is it normal or irregular?

I had a tubal in 05 after a c-section. Now after 4 and a half yrs later, my breast are sore and my periods are irregular. I've always had regular periods until now. The first one this month was a week early and normal, now the second one is a week after the usual time and normal. I feel tired, moody and tense alot more than usual, can I be pregnant? Could this be normal for a woman who is 32, with 2 children and 3 stepchildren?

Sounds like perimenopause. I am going through the same thing. I started at 29 years with wacko periods. Last months I was 4 days early and this month... 2 weeks late! I took a pregnancy test to make sure cause like everyone else on here, I had a tubal. I was told perimenopause happens the first 10 years before menopause. I read somewhere its up to 15 years. Ugh. Don't know what to believe. If it is 10, I'd be going to get my menopause at the age of 39. That's just too early. I'd have to look it up what the earliest is. 15 years, I can agree on, that would make me 44 years. My mom was 43. My aunt on my dad's side was 47. They usually go by your maternal side though. I have no clue about my aunts. All of this is just plain nuts!

Tubal ligation odds of effectiveness are slimmer than you think
The truth to the matter is 143 of us out of every 10,000 will get pregnant again even though we had this supposed irreversible procedure. They do not tell us that or even that as time passes the odds go up. Ladies if your not sure see a doctor chances are you wasted money and added pain and scar tissue just to find out your one of 143 out of 10,000 that defy doctors and their science. If you were still meant to bare children, life will find away. God bless you all as we all go on praying and wondering where do I fall into the numbers?

Tubal Reversal
I am almost 35. I had a Laparoscopic Tubal Sterilization in 2005(not sure what the difference is between that and a tubal ligation), because after 4 children and husband no longer in the picture, I thought I was finished with having kids. I have since met someone and he really wants me to bear his first child. I have been looking into tubal reversal surgeries, and am excited to know that I could get pregnant without the reversal surgery. If the chances are 143 out of 10,000...there may be hope yet.
Any other success stories of pregnancy after tubal without reversal surgery?

Possible pregnancy after tubal ligation
Ok Ladies. I had a tubal ligation almost 5 years ago now with my c-section. My doctor put me on bc pills right away, "just in case". He told me that my tubal was 91% effective (less than my pills). I got pregnant twice while taking the pill (the first miscarried, the 2nd, I had the c-section and tubal). I stopped taking my bc pills a year ago exactly, figuring I didn't need them and hated how they made me feel. At the end of December, after being a week late for my cycle (I've been like clockwork all my life), I woke up with extreme cramping in my back and abdomen, and a sharp pain on my right side that was persistent. I bled heavily with clots. This lasted all day and night, then tapered off over the following 3 days. Now, just 3 weeks later (I've NEVER been early), I had one day of bright red spotting (Sunday) for about an hour or so. Yesterday (Weds) I woke up to a heavy flow, a little clotting. Today, hardly anything. I went to the OB today, had a pap exam done...but didn't have a blood test. I believe I had a miscarriage and the doc said that is possible. But, reading a LOT of posts, I'm wondering if I should have had the doc do a blood test? I haven't taken a hp test, but am now thinking that I'll get one tomorrow. Yes, I've had the signs: extreme breast tenderness, headaches, slight dizziness, a "heavy" feeling in my abdomen, not much nausea, but I don't get that til the 2nd month, extreme tiredness, etc. How many of you who posted turned out pregnant after your tubal? My sister miscarried with an ectopic pregnancy about 4 years after hers. I also know a few women who got pregnant from 3 or more years after their tubals. Opinions?? Thanks in advance!

Ok, update today. No spotting last night or this morning. Just a bit of brownish spotting while at work (I'm a teacher, so on my feet, moving all day). Last night for the first time, I noticed that my uterus is very hard. Even had my fiance feel and he said the same. Just looked in the mirror and I have the blue veins all through my upper chest and down my breasts (same as my other pregnancies). Still sore breasts and that heavy feeling. Fiance thinks that I just really want to be pregnant and after the doc visit yesterday with him telling me that I probably did miscarry 3 weeks ago, I admit that yes, I'd be thrilled if I am pregnant. At the very least, I know that I CAN get pregnant after my TL almost 5 years ago. But, I have always been extremely fertile, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Is anyone following this thread??? Anyone else had this happen to them???

I've heard varying things, but yes, it is possible to get a reversal and have a successful pregnancy. The success rates vary from 25-75%, from what I've researched. The main thing everyone says is to make sure you go to a reputable doctor who has a high success rate, and who will follow up afterwards. Do a few searches, some folks have posted the docs they used.

My tubes were cut as well, though I honestly have no idea if they were cauterized or not. However, the doc says mine healed. Now, I'm 4 days past when my AF was due...still having symptoms, some cramping, but no AF. Road map veins have gotten worse (I even have them in my face now). I'm super tired, have gotten queasy a few times, have bad lower back pains and sometimes shooting pains in my breasts to my nipples, headaches, diarrhea. My CP is high and mushy, and closed. My CM has increased and is creamy. My temp is still up and has been steady. I took a test but got BFN. However, with both of my sons, I didn't get a faint BFP until I was a week late. So, I'm just playing the waiting game. LOTS of symptoms though. We'll just have to wait and see. Best Wishes and BABY DUST ~****~~~****~~~****~ to all!

Poss preg/tubal reversal
I went to the doctor's today. The urine pg test was neg. He did a vaginal ultrasound. My uterus is a bit enlarged and the lining is very thick. He said that he didn't see an embryo, but saw 2 small spots...can't be sure what they are. My ovaries all look good with no sign of ectopic. He told me that either I'm not pg, or it's still too early to tell. He ordered a blood test, but only the serum one (like the urine test, only with the blood). He also gave me Provera, if the blood test comes back neg. to jump start my period (it's been MIA for almost 2 weeks now). I'm having lots of symptoms. I took 12 hpts before going to the doc in the past 5 days. 7 showed up with faint positives, 2 had faint lines, but was hard to tell for sure and 3 were negative (2 of these were digi's). We aren't sure what's going on with me. But, if the blood test comes back neg, my doc is scheduling a procedure to flush my tubes to verify that they've healed. If we get a clean bill of health, we're going to start TTC.

Jesuslover: Yes, it is very possible. Wait until you've missed your AF (period) and take an hpt. Answers are the best ones...try to stay away from blue dye tests..they give false positives. If no AF and you're still having symptoms, go get blood work done.

Those of you who aren't sure if your tubes have healed or not, you can have the doctor flush your tubes to see if they've in fact reconnected. This would be the first step, before a tubal reversal. If it turns out that my tubes (or only one) has rehealed, but that I can't get an egg through (scar tissue can block the tube), then we are considering tubal reversal ourselves.

Hope that helps!

Pregnancy symptoms after tubal
I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like this. I've been paranoid about becoming pregnant again ever since I've had my 3rd child a year ago Jan 21st. Well I know I ovulated the last week on January and that we had sex during that time(thinking that I'm safe because I had my tubes cut during my c-section)....now I've had a headache for a week, my boobs are sore, I'm getting turned off from foods and my blood sugars are changing....I'm a diabetic. I've taken 2 hpt's but they're negative but it's wayyy too early anyway's. Tomorrow I have to take my daughter to her one year check up so I think I'll tell the dr. what I'm feeling and see if he'll do a blood test....would it show up this early? I'm due for my period on Valentine's day!!

Okay ladies, I have one for you, if any could one out there could answer this...I had a tubal ligation done right after the last birth of my beautiful son 2 and a half years ago...because of my health issues of being a diabetic. Well just about 10mos ago, I was in the e.r. due to excrutiating pain in my left abdomen...come to find out I had a cyst on my left ovary. My left ovary twisted about 2 and a half times and would not twist back...that was actually causing the enormous pain...anyways I was admitted for an emergent surgical procedure to have it taken out...therefore I am left with only one ovary...Now, the question is...Is there a possibility to become pregnant with the one ovary left inside? Or is that right ovary still considered tied or what? I have been quite emotional lately along with other symptoms...I was due on the first week of Feb for my MP but only spotted and wasn't heavy as normal...usually my periods lasts for 4-5 days and my cycle comes every 21 days...So with reading all of your wonderful stories I know that only God has the last say to all of our answers...I just wanted to know more about this...I am going to the dr's office tomorrow, but it is mainly for my diabetes check...they sometimes have the same symptoms...thanks for reading and God Bless All of You!!!

I had my TL in October of 2007 hours after giving birth (vaginal) to my youngest son. My husband had a vasectomy when I was 6 months pregnant but never went back to have his sperm checked due to a deployment. For the first year after having it done my periods were regular and I was down to my regular size of 4. In October my period became irratic and I began experiencing symptoms of pregnancy. I took some HPTs and some were positive while others were negative. I went to the women's center and had a full "girl check" including a serum pregnancy test. The preg test was negative and all else was good. Now I have gained 25 pounds since October, no change in my diet and I am super busy and active. My belly is huge! I actually look like I did when I was 6 months pregnant. I took 3 HPTs yesterday all with very faint positive results. I am freaking out - of course. I called a different doctor's office and made an appointment. I have also had pain during intercourse and have felt weird things in my stomach which until now I have blown off to be gas bubbles. I have also continued to have monthly bleeding but at different times and only for a day or two.. maybe 3 at most.

Since we both had procedures done my hubby and I figured we were safe so when we have gone out I have drank and I smoke about a pack a week. I am also addicted to Starbucks which contains loads of caffeine and sugar.

My biggest fear is that I have not taken the care that I did in previous pregnancies and if by the extraordinary slim chance I am pregnant I am nervous about the baby. My husband thinks that I am "overreacting" and of course his mother- the fountain of knowledge said that the lines were evaporation lines.

All I know is that with chances of about 1 in 350,000 of having a viable pregnancy if I am pregnant I will also start playing lotto as I am one lucky chica!
