Q: Osteoporosis And Low Thyroid

Hi, my mom just found out today that she has osteoporosis in her spine and she wanted me to get on and do some research for her. She has always had a low thyroid, or low thyroid levels. Is there in connection between that and osteoporosis?? Is there anything else that anyone can tell me to help my mom?? We would greatly appreciate all imput. Thank you so much.
