Hi all, this I smy first time at tis
forum. My dad-in-law was diagnosed of
prostate cancer in may'05. He had
multiple bone mtastasis with bilateral
inguinal node involvement. His psa then
was 95. At the time, he was critical and
was put on dialysis and orceactomy was
performed after which his health improved.
Later, we started chemotherapy with
taxotere[docetaxle]. Alongside, he is on
bicalutamide and zolandronate. A
nephrostomy was performed to facilitate
renal functions which was later on removed
and a stent put in the left urethra. In
april'06 he had urethritis in left side
and the urologist decided to put a new
stent, his psa at that time was 4.8.
After the procedure, psa and ldh were
repeated. Psa was 9.66 and ldh was 413[
which was over 700 the previous time].
Since past few days he has bowel problems.
A day ago he had blood in his stool and
he has to frequent the restroom without
having actual defecication. We got stool
exam done and it has no occult blood but
has 4-5 pus cells and mucous.
I need help, is the rise in psa due to
increase in activity of malignant cells or
from inflammation due to the change in the
stent?
He is clinically fine and has no
complaints besides the bowel complaints.
Please someone help me out.

He has a gleason grade of 4 and gleason
score of 9. Please folks, help me out.
