Well, I can only say that it has been proven to be good for your future health to ejaculate frequently. It is beneficial to prostate health farther down the line but if you dont masturbate for religious reasons that is a personal choice.

what religion exactly are you talking about? I am just wondering. It can't be the christian religion because god created man to be sexual, it is nature, the way our bodies function. It is perfectly normal to masturbate and I might add - healthy. It is however wrong to have sexual relationships out of marriage and that does call for self control and is not nature it is temptation. Do not be confused my friend, no need in trying to prove something to yourself and blame it on the good lord.

Oh it's certainly not like that. You must know that I am in no position to question what I know to be true in my heart, therefore I have no desire to debate about this personal attribute to my life.

The only strict inquiry which i've made, is to only know about the health issues involved. Even if the risks were immense, which they aren't, I wouldn't abandon my beliefs, for I know in whom i've trusted.



If you were to be curious as to why I have chosen this, it's because I know that the natural man is an enemy to god, and always has been since the fall of adam. Thus the tempations of the natural man are not of god. Let it be understood that sexual sin is very serious in my religion. Those feelings should only be expressed upon my eternal companion. This point of doctrine is a christian belief of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. If you are christian and of a different faith, please take no offense to my defense. I respect you and your beliefs--i promise. But what i've learned is to not discuss something so personal with someone of a different faith. Please don't let my strictly scientific-based question be turned into a religious-natured debate. My heart is not one to contend in any sort of arguement. Also, and again, I recognize that you do believe in your point which you've given me, and I do respect you for it.

Yes, I am female...And a mother of 2 boys (pre-teens), which might give you an idea of my age - I am no teenage girl. I also grew up with an older brother.

I say all of that to say I don't believe there will be any negative medical reprocussions to you abstaining from masturbation. You won't get "clogged up" or anything. You seem to have the self-control required to not let this become a "mental" issue for you either. My personal opinion, I believe the whole issue of masturbating is more a "mental" release than a "physical" one. It's not like you will explode if you don't release it...You haven't exploded yet, right? Your body produces semen and if it's not released, it's resorbed back in to your body...Recycled so to speak.

Regarding to your question "you haven't exploded yet, right?" well, certainly not as i'm conscious. But...You see, the excess sperm must be somehow released when it builds up (usually every 3-4 months), and because of my "mental" discipline, it can only happen in my subconscious, over which I have no control. When it does happen, I wake up with quite the surprise.

of course i'm in no position to tell you how to raise your kids as they hit puberty, but i'd suggest that you encourage them to abstain in this matter. I've noticed that it gives me more self-confidence and self-worth knowing that I have control over such a temptation. Just a suggestion.

With regards to your "nocturnal emissions" ("wet dreams"), you have no control over that. You are a male, and as i'm sure you are aware, it is completely normal for this to happen. It's not like you are masturbating in your sleep (though I imagine that is possible). Like you said, your subconscious thoughts may cause this to happen.

I too have a personal relationship with god, and I do not believe he would put us in a position where we would be held accountable for our thoughts and expect us to have control of them when we are sleeping.

That is a very good point libby. I (and my church) agree with that, although sometimes I do blame myself, even though it's not my fault. When it happens it kinda gives the following day a grey cloud covering the sun. Know what I mean? Funny how dreams can do that to a person.

I just have to say again I am impressed with you standing up for what you believe, and having such conviction at your age.

What I have tried to instill in my sons is to be individuals and to be the best they can possibly be. No one expects perfection (not even god), but I do expect them to strive for perfection, keeping their focus on the ultimate goal of making god proud of them. They are my treasures, true gifts from god...I make sure they hear that every day from me.

I want to help them become confident, proud, men of god. I sense that already in you.

I think in ones sleep, its an accident. But doing it for the sole purpose of enjoyment or relieving ones self, is frowned upon.

In fact, just the other day I had a "wet dream" I felt guilty because I remembered the ugly sexual image in my dream, and it gave my day a depressing feeling. I know that it is not my fault, but I still kinda feel bad, if that makes sense.
