Pregnant? I Might Be Crazy Posted: 04-30-06 19:53pm
Okay...This probably sounds really stupid.
But i'm paranoid about things like this.
I've had one constant period for about 6
months (there was obviously something
wrong with me, I had called and the nurse
said my flow might have been messed up
because of increased physical activity...)
but I decided to go to the doctor after a
few months because 6 days is enough...But
a period for each day of the month..No
good. So anyways, I got put on yasmin and
I still had the period each day but it was
somewhat lighter. I decided to skip the
placebo pills to make it easier for me (it
would be really heavy if I took them). So
after my 3 trial months of yasmin, I went
to get my next prescription.
Okay...Now...2 weeks ago from yesterday,
me and my boyfriend had dry sex. We were
both wearing jeans and it ended up not
being too near to my "area"...It was more
on the inside upper thigh. Anyway...I ran
into the bathroom to change my tampon
(which I pretty much need to wear
everyday)...And before I did that, I
touched the spot on my jeans to see how
wet it was (wasnt wet...I got no wetness
on my hands, but it was a spot). Is there
a possibility I could have gotten semen on
my tampon when I put it in? Or would the
sperm be dead already after being in the
fabric? If it didnt even get moisture on
my hand is there a possibility I
transfered it? I dont know why i'm so
paranoid because I was on yasmin (not
taken the same time every day though,
sometimes missed because I wasnt sexually
active so I wasnt taking it faithfully)
but the thing is...After having a constant
period for many months, it seemed to slow
down alot...Now I only have hardly any
color on my tampon, there is like only a
tiny spot here and there. Could this
just be from the new yasmin? Is the trial
packs different from the new prescription
I got? I'm sorry if this sounds stupid,
but I guess I want to know if there was
even a chance. Thank you.

Okay.. So some women do have abnormal
bleeding like you, and yes it is a pain in
the "you know what".... The normal
treatment is a birth control pill like
yasmin, but it doesn't always work right
away, it could take a few months to 'kick
in' and straighten you out.
It also works better for abnormal bleeding
like yours when you double up and not take
placebos, which many docs do actually...
I would honestly say that your lightened
up flow is happily due to the birth
control! Now you said you ahev been
taking right? Because when you take a
birth control pill everyday it is very
effective at preventing pregnancy!

Yes...It is a pain. Thanks for the info.
My doctor didnt explain to me at all what
was wrong with me. She just threw me on
the pills. I didnt know they'd take three
months to work. Thank you very much

I am sorry she didn't expalin it :( I work
for planned parenthood and always try and
explain things.
A lot of women between the ages of say
14-18 go on the pill for the reason you
did, because of bleeding problems..There
is no exact reason why, and a lot of docs
cannot explain it, but 'the pill' does
help :)
